William Castle, the director of the original film, took the storyline into account and developed it as a cinematic haunted house show. Vincent Price plays a carnival barker and hangs out as ghosts, heads, skeletons, and hanging bodies in the movie. Its theatrical release was its gimmick. Horror fans quickly grew to love the movie.
